[Contents] Group A category touring car races were popular worldwide in the mid-1980s. The second-generation GT-R, which appeared in 1989, was developed with the aim of winning and went on to dominate the races.
The second generation GT-R evolved into the BNR32 model based on the 8th generation Skyline, the BCNR33 based on the 9th generation Skyline, and finally the BNR34 model based on the 10th generation Skyline.
The motif of Hot Wheels is the BCNR33 model. The 9th generation Skyline GT-R itself on which the BCNR33 was based was expanded in wheelbase, width and length to improve occupancy, so although the body was enlarged, the increase in weight was kept to a minimum, and the maneuverability was improved by increasing the rigidity of the body and skillfully setting up the suspension.
The subsequent 10th generation Skyline again had a smaller body, and due to its spacious interior it tends to be preferred over the BNR32 in the United States.
