[Contents] In the 1980s, road racers, a modified style that imitates race cars, became popular among young car enthusiasts in Japan. In particular, powerful race cars were fitted with wide slick tires that were attached to the body of the car to ensure that the power was transmitted to the road surface and improve grip performance, so the appearance of the car covered by screwed over fenders became the object of admiration, and modified cars that imitated this style, although it was illegal, began to be seen all over the country. Liberty Walk in Aichi Prefecture has revived the road racer style, which is already a thing of the past, by docking it with a modern supercar.
This Hot Wheels model is based on the favorite car of Liberty Walk's president, Wataru Kato, and is a reproduction of the 1980s road racer that is the origin of Liberty Walk, the fourth-generation Skyline, commonly known as the Kenmeri.
It faithfully traces many of the car's features, such as the square, slanted headlights, dummy oil cooler, and the so-called one-tail design with the rear bumper removed and the four round taillights reduced to two.
