[Contents] The fifth-generation Silvia (S13 type) appeared in 1988. Its sister car, the 180 (One Eighty) SX, debuted in 1989, using the same basic components but with a special front mask equipped with retractable headlights and a body with a hatchback rear section.

The 180SX was produced basically without any major changes until 1999, when its sister car, the Silvia, switched to the 6th generation (S14 type) in 1993 and was about to transition to the 7th generation.
The motif that Hot Wheels chose is the later model of the 180SX, which comes in early, mid, and late models, and is seen in the background of the parking lot scene in Tokyo Drift, the third film in the Fast and Furious series.
