●It is famous as the base of the Hojo clan.
The current Odawara Castle tower was restored in 1960. In 2006, it was selected as one of Japan's 100 Most Famous Castles.
The Odawara Castle tower consists of three parts: a one-story small tower, a side turret, and a three-story, four-story large tower. Although the large tower appears to be three stories high, the first story is divided into two floors, making it a four-story tower.
This was a consideration to the shogunate, who disliked large castle towers, and there are examples of other castles that have also taken measures to make their towers appear smaller.
